Happy Fourth Day of Christmas!

On the Fourth Day of Christmas, my True Love gave to me: Four Calling Birds! The calling birds refers to the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists.

Merry Christmas, All! Love you!

Oh yay! You're doing the 12 days of Christmas blog-style! I was going to do that, but then I figured it was too much work, and I didn't feel like doing it. Glad someone has the motivation!! ( :

I'm so glad you appreciate that I post good books online! I love getting book recommendations from people and so I like to return the favor by giving my own recommendations. I figured that there are at least SOME people out there that will take my recommendations and go read the books for themselves! I love reading!! Rob and I have this HUGE book collection... it's actually ridiculous, especially when we have to move ( : we're so pathetic, though. It is virtually impossible for Rob and I to walk into a bookstore and NOT buy a new book. Our favorite store is Barns and Noble, so if we don't want to spend money, we just DON'T go in there! I love the smell and feel of new books. Rob says we should try to start getting books from the library instead, but there is just something about opening a book for the first time and knowing that you are the first person (besdies possibly the printing company) to have read the book. I love it! It's addicting ( : Plus I just love to read, so getting a new book is a thrill!

Well you asked for it... some of the good books that I've read this year (bisdes Twilight, of course) include: Artemis Fowl--by Eoin Colfer (it's a 6 book series... kind of has a Harry Potter feel to it), the Golden Compas series--Philip Pullman (the movie came out this year, did you hear about that? You might have already read those), The Luxe and Rumors--Anna Godbersen (the series is not finished with those two books yet, careful! you'll be waiting in suspence! And there's no magic or anything in them, but they are WAY good... you know, love stories, scandolous, backstabbing friends, etc!), and another series that I would recommend are the Warrior Heir books by Cinda Williams Chima. There are three in that series, The Warrior Heir, the Wizard Heir and The Dragon Heir. I've only read the first two, but they were very good! I'm just waiting for the third one to come out in soft back so I can buy it and read it (I told you I have an obsession with new books!). I like my books to all be the same, and since I have the other two in soft back, I figured I'd wait a few months for the last one to be soft too ( : Anyway, those are some 2008 recommendations. I've read a whole lot more than that, but those were some of my favorites that have sort of a Twilight or Harry Potter kind of feel to them. Mistborn doesn't really feel like a Harry Potter book, but it is still SUPER good, and I would most DEFINITELY recommend reading them. I'm telling ya, you after you read them, you'll screw wanting to be a vampire and totally want to be mistborn!! ( :

I know this is getting a wee bit too long, but I had to tell you... OF COURSE I've read The Host! Are you kidding me?! I read it twice this summer alone! And I loved it, of course. I know some people thought it was kind of slow in the middle, but I thought it was fabulous! You kind of need that slow part so that you can see the character development. No complaints here, I loved it!! I can't wait for the next Stephenie Meyer book... whatever that might be!

Anyway, I better stop writing now... I could talk about books all day and you probably don't want that!

Love you!
Jules
